MODS and ADU Incentives Amendments

On August 14, 2023, the Planning Commission of the City of Piedmont considered draft amendments to the City Code and Piedmont Design Guidelines. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Planning Commission recommended: that the amendments were exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), that the City Council should adopt an ordinance amending the Piedmont City Code to add a pre-approved plans incentive for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), to implement multifamily objective design standards (MODS), to add ministerial review procedures, and to make other conforming changes; and that the City Council should adopt proposed amendments to the City of Piedmont Design Guidelines.

The City Council is scheduled to consider the amendments at a public hearing on September 5, 2023, starting at 6 pm. Please see Upcoming Events on this webpage for more details.
